New Porsche owners continue to report high levels of satisfaction with their vehicles. For the third consecutive year, Porsche ranked highest among premium brands in the J.D. Power U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study℠. Porsche Jacksonville takes a closer look at the 2026 results and what the study measures.

What is the J.D. Power APEAL Study℠

The 2026 J.D. Power U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study℠ measures owners' emotional attachment to and excitement with their new vehicles after 90 days of ownership. Owners evaluate 37 attributes covering different aspects of the vehicle experience, from the comfort they feel when getting into the driver's seat to their exhilaration during acceleration. The 2026 study is based on responses from 78,514 owners of new 2026 model-year vehicles.

Porsche Results

Porsche ranked highest among premium brands in the 2026 APEAL Study℠ for the third consecutive year, earning a score of 896 on a 1,000-point scale. Porsche was also the only premium brand to score above the segment average, highlighting the strong emotional connection owners reported with their vehicles.

The result follows another strong showing in the 2026 J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study℠, where Porsche ranked highest overall among automotive brands with 138 reported problems per 100 vehicles. The Porsche 911 also earned the highest initial-quality score of any individual model in that study, with 110 problems per 100 vehicles.

Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, Inc., credited the result to the emotional connection Porsche owners have with the brand. He emphasized that customers' trust and enthusiasm continue to motivate Porsche to deliver distinctive vehicles and ownership experiences.
